Do I need therapy?

If you’re asking this question, you’re not alone.

Most men don’t grow up learning how to talk about what’s going on inside. Many of us learn to keep going, keep busy, or keep quiet. Counselling can feel unfamiliar, unnecessary, or like something you should only do if things get really bad.

So let’s be clear. You don’t need a crisis. You don’t need a diagnosis. You don’t need the right words. And you don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong. You just need a willingness to reflect.

Counselling might be helpful if:

  • you feel stuck, frustrated or angry

  • you’re struggling in or out of your relationships

  • stress or anxiety is starting to wear you down

  • habits like work, alcohol, drugs, social media, or other distractions are doing you more harm than good

  • you feel different or out of step, but can’t quite explain why

You don’t have to come in with an agenda. You don’t have to talk the whole time. And you don’t have to “do it properly”.

Counselling isn’t about fixing you. It’s about understanding yourself better, and deciding what, if anything, you want to change. We’re not here to tell you what to do or who to be. We’re here to listen, understand, and support you in finding your own way forward.

As men, we’re taught to walk alone.

Yet it’s in being met that we find our true strength.

And if you’re still unsure? That’s okay.

But you should know this.

Making it this far means you haven’t given up.

And that alone is enough!
